Covenant Student Ministries is a welcoming community for undergraduate, graduate, and professional students that seek to live out God’s inclusive love on campus and in our world through faith, fellowship, and service.” CSM offers students different opportunities to engage and connect with each other and the Holy through a full week of programming that centers around connecting, encountering, responding and blessing.
Grounded in the Christian tradition, Covenant Student Ministries is an ecumenical and progressive campus ministry that supports the faith and spiritual journey of the students in University Circle neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio: Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland Institute of Art, and Cleveland Institute of Music. In addition to these three universities we also serve and support the spiritual journey the professional and medical students of the Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals.
Covenant Student Ministries is part of a consortium of non-profit outreach (missional) efforts of the Church of the Covenant (PCUSA). In this capacity, Covenant Student Ministries acts as an independent organization that is an affiliate of Church of the Covenant. This relationship allows us campus ministry similar to InterVarsity, Newman Catholic Ministry, and Hillel and not as part of a specific church; we essentially operate on campus as a para-church organization. This arrangement allows Covenant Student Ministries to be part of campus life through a registered student organization and to have a seat on the Inter-Religious Council of Case Western Reserve University.
ALL ARE WELCOME!
Covenant Student Ministries creates a campus community that intentionally welcomes all. We do this without requiring adherence to any religious belief or creed. We foster a climate of purposeful inclusion, an environment where all can feel safe, valued, cared for, and given an opportunity to form meaningful connections with each other. We cherish the diversity of humanity, a diversity which includes differences in sex, age, race, ethnicity, and national origin, range of abilities, sexual orientation, gender expression or identity, financial means, education, and political perspective. These beliefs and practices apply to all of the activities of our ministry and inform all of our decisions.
